Double Your Impact by With our TWO $50,000 Matching Challenges!

From Summer Intern to Environmental Professional

Avery Sands first joined NSRWA as a summer intern eager to build her skills as an environmental scientist. Over three summers, she worked alongside staff, volunteers, and partners on eelgrass restoration, water quality monitoring, invasive species research, and other conservation projects across the South Shore.

Avery became a trusted returning member of the team—one whose dedication raised the bar for everyone around her.

Today, she works at a professional environmental chemistry lab, carrying forward the experience, confidence, and commitment she developed at NSRWA.

Hope for the Future

Avery’s journey shows what your support makes possible: healthier rivers and coasts today, and a new generation prepared to protect them tomorrow.

“The focused and impactful efforts of the NSRWA team and the dedicated volunteers demonstrate an unwavering commitment to conservation that will ensure a hopeful future for our local environment.”
~ Avery Sands
